Brigid Morris

Brigid Morris is a Senior Associate at Gemini. Brigid has extensive experience in patent litigation at large law firms in both the United States and Australia, as well as experience as an in-house government lawyer. Brigid’s practice includes Hatch-Waxman and BPCIA patent litigation, Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings, including interferences and inter partes review, patent portfolio management, pre-litigation strategy, and policy and legislative advice. Brigid is dual-qualified and admitted to practice in both the United States (NY) and Australia (NSW).

Brigid spent the first years of her legal career as an IP Litigation associate at Goodwin Procter in NY, gaining valuable experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation, including two District Court trials, as well as general commercial litigation. Following her return to Australia, Brigid practiced in the patent litigation team at DLA Piper in Sydney, where she further grew her experience in Australian patent law, including as a member of the trial team on the largest and most important case addressing damages in pharmaceutical patent cases in Australia. Brigid has also practiced as an in-house government lawyer for AUSTRAC, an Australian regulatory agency, where she advised and counselled internal clients across a broad range of issues, including interpreting legislation, policy guidance, trademark and copyright issues, litigation and managing external legal counsel. Brigid now spends the majority of her time in NY, with the remainder of her time spent back in Australia.

Brigid earned her undergraduate degrees in French, English, and Biomedical Science from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, and prior to attending law school, worked for a number of years for the Australian Government in the areas of intelligence and international policy.
